It’s the go-to spot in Miami’s trendy Wynwood neighborhood whether you’re looking for drinks and inspired bites like cheeseburger croquettes and crispy octopus, or a dinner of shareable plates that offer something for every palate. Stop by Saturday or Sunday for the bottomless brunch.

Pao By Paul Qui

3201 Collins Ave.

The stunning ocean views aren’t the only draw at this restaurant, nestled in the Faena Hotel Miami Beach. Chef Paul Qui’s dishes draw from a range of cuisines, including Filipino, Spanish, Japanese, and French. Qui’s approach is both playful and authentic. Memorable entrees include Roasted Branzino with Chili Patis and Thai Herbs and Grilled Iberico Pork Presa with Jicama and Grilled Pineapple—and don’t miss the Tom Kha Gai Rice with Trumpet Mushrooms and Shitake Bacon. End your meal on a high note with Milles Crepes Cake filled with a light cream cheese mousse.

Macchialina

820 Alton Rd.

Located in South Beach’s residential west side, Macchialina serves rustic, regionally diverse Italian fare in an unpretentious atmosphere. Locals and the cognoscenti know that this neighborhood eatery, along with chef/owner Michael Pirolo, is one of Miami Beach’s critically acclaimed culinary gems. Central to the tightly curated menu is pasta, which at Macchialina is always made fresh in-house. And it comes with an incredible drink list of Italian wines, spirits, and cocktails.

WHERE TO STAY

Faena

3201 Collins Ave.

Located in the center of the Miami Beach arts district, Faena Hotel Miami Beach elevates luxury to decadent levels, as emphasized by the gilded wooly mammoth skeleton in the eponymous Mammoth Garden, one of the on-site venues. The hotel is the product of a collaboration among Alan Faena, filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, and production and costume designer Catherine Martin. The interior stuns in rich reds and golds punctuated by experimental art pieces.

1 Hotel South Beach

2341 Collins Ave.

Inspired by 600 feet of beach along the Atlantic, this LEED Certified hotel features rooms with reclaimed woods, organic cotton mattresses, and sustainably sourced linens. WHERE TO EXPLORE

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

3251 South Miami Ave.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens transports visitors to Gilded-Age Miami. Acre after acre of gardens, a mangrove shoreline, and a museum make up the former Biscayne Bay estate of businessman James Deering. The Main House is an art piece unto itself—a subtropical take on a classic Italian villa, and it houses collections from a range of eras stretching as far back as the first century AD.

Design District

140 NE 39th St.

Miami’s Design District is an eminently walkable neighborhood and shopping destination teeming with unique art, design, architecture, and fashion. Jaroschy and Potts’ favorites include Dozie Kanu’s “Support System,” a jungle-gym-like art installation that snakes through the district, and Palm Court, an open courtyard surrounded by shops and home to Buckminster Fuller’s “Fly’s Eye Dome,” a prototypical “autonomous dwelling machine.”

Tierra Santa Healing House

3201 Collins Ave.

Located on the third floor of the art-forward Faena hotel, Tierra Santa Healing House is a 22,000 square foot spa specializing in healing traditions from across the world. It boasts a sauna, an ice parlor, and one of the largest Turkish baths, or hammams, on the east coast. Treatments range from healing scrubs to shaman-inspired therapies.

Wynwood Walls

2516 NW 2nd AVE

Wynwood Walls is an open-air art museum in one of Miami’s trendiest neighborhoods. Since 2009, the biggest names in graffiti and street art have created new pieces for Wynwood Walls. The museum now holds more than 50 hand-sprayed murals and two street-art galleries.
